Once
you’ve bought your stunning BMW from Lincolnshire dealers, it might be a good idea
to keep it as clean as you can, or you could end up harbouring all sorts of
germs in your vehicle that you might not even be aware of.
According
to new research
from Carfused.com, 25 per cent of people in Britain only clean their
cars once every three months, despite the fact that investigations by the
company have found that vehicles contain bacteria including Staphylococcus
and E.coli.
Although
it would seem as though we don’t keep our cars clean, a filthy motor can put
people off from buying. In fact, 20 per cent said that they would pay less
for a car if it looked dirty, so if you are thinking about selling your
vehicle make sure you take it for a full service and pay a visit to the car
wash first.
“You
normally hear stories of people taking real pride in their car, cleaning it
every weekend and ensuring it’s immaculate at all times. It’s really
worrying to see, then, just how dirty people are letting their cars get. We
were expecting to find some bad stuff from the University of Nottingham’s
testing but we didn’t expect to find bacteria relating to E.coli in there,”
spokeswoman for Carfused.com Kate Rose said.
Keep your
new BMW clean by using stiff scrub brushes on the carpets and compressed air
to help you get rid of any lingering dirt. Remember – just because it looks
clean doesn’t mean it is.
Is
Mobile Phone Use Whilst Driving Declining?
Latest statistics appear to show that mobile phone use while driving is
dropping. The total drop seem to equate to a reduction
of 47%, which is very significant. Is the message finally getting through do
you think about the dangers of being distracted by your mobile device whilst
driving? Some say yes - Probably not thinks
Mercedes Lincolnshire!
Since 2009, the number of police patrol cars on our roads has dropped
dramatically – FACT! This therefore means that there are less traffic police officers
out there to issue tickets. In fact, the Department for Transport figures shows
an unchanged amount of motorists using their smart phones at the wheel.
Since 2010, the amount of people involved in accidents caused by using
their phone at the wheel, has increased by some 40%. This would certainly point
to the fact that at least the same number of people still appear to be using
their phones behind the wheel, if not more. The suggested reduction therefore seems
to be a misleading statistic that says more about our reducing police force on
our highways than mobile phone usage whilst behind the wheel.
The RAC recently commented; “There is still an enormous gulf between
what the law states – that handheld mobile phones should not be used behind the
wheel – and what motorists see happening on our roads. Drivers are routinely
using their phones at red traffic lights, or even while on the move. We
have already highlighted the large reductions in the numbers of full-time roads
policing officers affecting many of our regional police forces. On average
across the country there was a 23% cut in their budgets between 2010 and 2014 –
meaning that there are 1,279 fewer officers patrolling our roads. With
budgetary constraints, roads policing officer numbers are not going to increase
in the near future, but we believe that now is time to halt this critical
decline and stop further year-on-year cuts. We also look to the Government to
propose other means of enforcing the existing traffic laws to reduce risks on
our roads.”

behind the wheel? Have you been tempted to use yours while behind the wheel?

Driving Test To Feature GPS
When you
are traveling round the south of England in the best used Audi Lincolnshire has
to offer, make sure you are using your GPS safely.
In an attempt to get people
using these systems safely and update the driving test to better reflect
driving in the UK today, the DVLA is looking at introducing Sat Nav GPS
systems into the driving test.
It could replace a part of
the test introduced in the past decade called independent driving. At the
moment this part of the test involves the instructor telling the person
taking the driving test to follow signs to a certain area on their own.
This could be changed so the
person taking the test follows the instructions on a GPS system. People
taking their driving test could still also use road signs as a second option
and to make sure that they know where they are going.
There have been some trials
of the new test using a SatNav in an attempt to see how helpful the change
could be.
Other changes are planned
for the driving test, including reversing out of a parking bay.
Some instructors have
reservations that the changes could lead to people becoming dependent on the
technology. There have, however, been examples of accidents and fatalities
taking place after drivers who recently passed their test used the
technology inappropriately.
You can read more about the
changes planned for the driving test on
The Express Newspaper website. What do you think of this development?

Why Mercedes Benz?
What begins as a
breakthrough becomes the standard for every car on the road. Enjoyment is
paramount along the ever more exciting road map to the future and a
never-ending roster of new achievements.
Since
inventing the first car, Mercedes-Benz has set the pace for what all cars
might someday become. With an ongoing stream of firsts in safety,
performance and driving there’s only one reason the world’s first automaker
remains first in innovation. Carl Benz said it best: "The love
of inventing never dies and that can’t be measured",
for Mercedes-Benz is not interested in building cars that are merely
powerful or fast. Instead, they engineer cars that combine the many facets
of performance to create something extraordinary. From the most affordable
A-Class to racy AMG and S-Class models, a new generation of power is
sweeping through Mercedes-Benz. Advanced new Direct Injection petrol engines
give stronger performance from less fuel with fewer emissions. From the new
ECO Stop/Start function to advanced two-mode hybrid with full electric
capability, numerous supplemental innovations further reduce the fuel
consumption and emissions of conventional-fuel engines. Mercedes-Benz knows,
fulfilling that destiny will take more than just plug-in hybrids and battery
electric vehicles. That’s why they’ve driven innovation of renewable,
zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell power. You can own the future today for
example, with the B-Class F-CELL. The Mercedes-Benz family is devoted to the
craft of car manufacture. A Mercedes-Benz should always look like a
Mercedes-Benz, and what they produce are vehicles that not only look, but
feel and sound like nothing else on the road. For well over half a century,
Mercedes-Benz engineers have been devoted to preparing for a moment they
hope never occurs. Mercedes-Benz offers exclusive new breakthroughs to help
make an accident less severe, less damaging, and even less likely.
Mercedes Benz is well known to set the trend that all other car
manufacturers may follow someday. It stands first in terms of safety,
comfort, performance and all other aspects. Mercedes Benz dealer
Lincolnshire is an organization well familiar with the facts that makes the
brand popular among the people. As the new buyer finds it difficult to

School Runs ‘Add 35 Minutes’ On Average To Weekly Commutes
Once you’ve sorted your new car out via the best Lincolnshire
used Audi dealership out there, make sure you bear in mind that the school run
could make your morning commute to work a bit longer as more cars are out there
on the road.
According to new research from
Confused.com, the start of the school term means that commuters driving to
work will find that an extra 35 minutes on average is added to their journey
times in the mornings as parents take their children to school.
During the summer holidays, the typical daily commute was 23
minutes but once the kids are back in the classroom this climbs to 30 minutes.
In all, 86 per cent of Britons use their vehicle to get
themselves to work, with 49 per cent reporting back that their commute was a
lot quicker during the holidays. What’s more, 32 per cent admit that they’ve
got to work in a bad mood because of terrible traffic, while 27 per cent say
they’ve experienced road rage on their way to the office.
“Drivers should take extra care during heavy traffic in the
morning – any erratic driving as a result of road rage or other drivers on the
road could lead to accidents which will have an impact on insurance premiums,”
head of motor insurance with the price comparison site Gemma Stanbury warned.
If you’ve been the victim of a road rage incident where you’ve
been threatened or damage has been done either to yourself or your car, make
sure you get in touch with your local police force on 101.
Don't Neglect Your Car
Repairs!
After you've bought a new
set of wheels from Lincolnshire Audi dealers, make sure that you take your car
for regular services and check-ups with your local mechanic so you know that
your vehicle is always roadworthy and doesn't represent a risk.
According to new research
from Gocompare.com, 11 per cent of drivers have put off replacing their
tyres and five per cent have delayed brake repairs because they're a bit
strapped for cash, but such delays could either make your car dangerous to
drive or even illegal.
It was found that just 61
per cent of motorists fully understand their dashboard displays (so perhaps
familiarise yourself with all the knobs and dials), 59 per cent know what
the service interval is and 66 per cent state that they have their car
serviced regularly.
In terms of costing, the
average amount a car service will set you back each year is £205. In London,
you can expect to pay an average of £283, while in the north-east of the
country you'll face a bill of £135.
"While delaying repairs and
maintenance may seem like a good way of saving cash, it can lead to more
serious problems and bigger bills in the long-run and could render your car
unsafe and illegal to drive," Gocompare.com car insurance spokesman Matt
Oliver said.
The purpose of a service is
to check over all the parts of your car that will wear down over time, such
as brake pads and the oil - which you may not know how to check yourself. As
every vehicle is different, check your handbook when you buy a new car to
find out what will need replacing.

5 Tips for Cutting Car Insurance....!
#porschedealersLincolnshire
Here are our top tips for Lincolnshire
Porsche drivers and others around the UK who are keen to cut their insurance
premiums down as much as possible – a concern for the majority of motorists,
we’d have thought.
Safety and security
If you’ve got a garage or a driveway,
then you’ll be able to reduce your premiums a bit. Insurers will offer you
more affordable cover if you can offer your car protection, so add some
extra security features to it as well.
Name drivers
Even if you think you’re the safest
driver around, you can be placed in a high-risk category if you’ve recently
passed your test, have previous claims or are under 25 years old. So name a
more experienced driver on your policy to help bring the premiums down.
Pay upfront
People think often think it’s cheaper
to pay monthly but if your bank balance can swallow the whole amount at
once, you could save yourself a few hundred pounds. So try and pay it all
upfront if you can.
Type of cover
The majority of insurers will offer
three different levels of cover – comprehensive, third party fire and theft,
and third party. The minimum level legally required is third party, but it’s
not always the cheapest. The best deals can be found on comprehensive cover
so make sure you do your research before you buy.

Do You Know What The Speed Limit Is...?
#mercedesbenzdealersLincolnshire
You may have passed your test and think you know the Highway
Code like the back of your hand, but chances are what you think is right is
actually quite incorrect, at least where speed limits are concerned. Once you’ve got your new car sorted from Lincolnshire Mercedes
dealers and are about to take to the road, just have a think to see if you know
what the limit is on the kind of highway you’re on. According to new
research from The Co-operative Insurance, 38 per cent of people cannot
correctly identify the speed limit for a single carriageway road. Apparently,
25 per cent think it’s 50mph and ten per cent think it’s 70mph. In fact, just
36 per cent of those asked managed to get the answer right. "The impact of not being aware of speed limits on the
roads can’t be underestimated; speeds are set for a reason and driving without
knowing speed can have harmful consequences to other road users and
pedestrians, especially if you are travelling too fast,” The Co-operative
Insurance’s Steve Kerrigan said. Even if you’re a seasoned motorist, it can’t hurt to refresh
yourself about the rules of the road. Did you know that the speed limit varies
depending on what kind of vehicle you’re driving, for example? If you’re in a
car, dual-purpose motor or a van and you have a caravan or trailer in tow, the
speed limit on a single carriageway drops from 60mph to 50mph. Learning the rules can only be beneficial for you and other
drivers if you want to stay safe on the road.
Beware Internet-Enabled
Dongles…!
#mercedesdealersLincolnshire
As Lincolnshire Mercedes dealers, we like to keep
abreast of the latest motoring news and developments, and have just
discovered that internet-enabled dongles that are typically bought by
drivers after a new car investment could actually be putting their
vehicles at risk. New research from the University of California at
San Diego (UCSD) has found that certain gadgets could make it easier for
hackers to infiltrate vehicles, with the team finding that there are two
entry points that could be made more secure – the configuration options
and the update protocol,
Wired reports. The UCSD researchers noted in a paper that will be
presented at a Usenix security conference soon that “this problem is
particularly challenging because, since this is aftermarket equipment,
it cannot be well addressed by automobile manufacturers themselves”. This is of course concerning to all drivers behind
the wheel of internet-connected cars. Back in July, Wired’s Andy
Greenberg was shown just what could happen if hackers
did decide to target a vulnerable vehicle. Hackers Chris Valasek and
Charlie Miller were able to turn the AC on full, change radio stations,
turn the windscreen wipers on and turn the transmission off – stopping
the accelerator from working. If you have invested in a new car and are planning
on buying aftermarket gadgets to connect your car to the internet, be it
to carry out safety checks, to synchronise your multimedia or to reduce
your insurance costs, it might be worth thinking again and doing more
research to find out if such additions will make your motor more
vulnerable.

Best of Nearly-NEW Cars - The
4th generation Audi A8 has been the sweetest yet..!

best for yourself.
Audi Lincolnshire are
very familiar with these advanced technologies and can make your future
driving experience with these beautiful cars painless and pleasurable. The
4th generation A8 is by far the sweetest, most sophisticated executive
saloon Audi has ever made. Audi is also calling it the sportiest A8 yet. At
a glance, this may seem a little difficult to digest. It’s hard to equate
two-ton plus twin-turbo with sporty—but that’s one of the many
pleasant surprises about this thoroughbred designer automotive powerhouse.
Basics: This is the fourth
generation of Audi’s premium saloon. Like the other established players in
this exclusive game—BMW 7-series,
Jaguar
XJ, Lexus LS460,
Mercedes S-class—the
latest big Audi has grown bigger. Audi’s extensive use of aluminium helps
keep weight somewhat in check despite the standard all-wheel-drive system.
And a slick new ZF
eight-speed
automatic transmission—plus the addition of 22 horses to the
4.2-liter, direct-injection V-8—makes the A8 livelier than its curb weight
suggests. The engine’s basic specifications haven’t changed a great deal;
the gains were achieved by adding Audi’s variable intake-valve-lift system
and reducing internal friction. Only the Mercedes S400 hybrid is believed to
surpasses the A8’s overall ratings. However, where the A8 really justifies
Audi’s “sportiest” claim is in its composure on lumpy back roads when the
g-loads are coming from odd angles and the pace is brisk. BMW wrote the
manual on this—a benchmark blend of compliance and agility. Still, Audi’s
adaptive air suspension may have added a new chapter. With its combination
of forward-weight bias and all-wheel drive, under-steer is still the basic
dynamic trait. But the push is mild, the threshold of stability-control
intervention is high, and the predictability factor is exceptional. The
faster you go, the more level the car’s cornering attitude becomes as it
hunkers down and attacks the apexes—all this and supple ride quality, too.
Inside, the new A8 is what we’ve come to expect from Audi—tasteful, elegant,
and adjustable to just about any personal dimensions you bring to the
supportive leather seats. Even Quasimodo could find a comfortable driving
position here, particularly with the optional, 22-way-adjustable seats in
our test car. In addition to the endless alterations possible, these
heavenly cathedras have five different massaging functions from which to
choose. It’s the best automotive rubdown we’ve ever experienced.
As you’d demand of a car in this class, the
A8 is packed with all sorts of electronic goodies, including a touch-pad
update to Audi’s MMI (Multi Media Interface), allowing the operator to make
navigation system entries by scrawling them on the pad with a finger, one
letter at a time. The system seems able to recognize cryptic handwriting,
and the pad can also be used to activate six radio presets.
